The family task manager where kids earn their screen time

Parents assign chores and set screen-time limits. Kids finish tasks, earn stars, and trade them for rewards and screen-time minutes — enforced on their iPhone with Apple's Family Controls, not promises.

How it works

Chores in. Stars out. Screen time earned.

One family, two views: parents plan and approve from their iPhone, kids see their own tasks and rewards on theirs. Everything stays in sync.

1

Assign tasks worth stars

Pick from ready-made chores, school and routine tasks or create your own — one-off or repeating, with due dates and an optional photo proof so "I did it" means it's done.

2

Kids earn and save stars

Completed tasks earn stars after a quick parent review. Rocky the raccoon keeps streaks alive with hearts and medals, so showing up daily becomes the game.

3

Stars buy rewards & screen time

Kids spend stars in the family reward store — movie night, a day off chores, a trip — or on timed screen-time sessions that unlock their apps for exactly as long as they've earned.

Why Quokka

A calmer household, not a surveillance state.

Everything a family needs to run the day — and nothing that watches your child.

Chores kids actually finish

Repeating tasks, due dates, star values and optional proof photos — parents approve with one tap, and the history shows who did what, when.

A reward store your family designs

From "pick any dessert" to a family trip — set a star price on the things your kids care about and let them save up for real goals.

Screen time that's earned, not fought over

Daily limits and app blocking run on the kid's iPhone via Apple's Family Controls. When time runs out, apps are shielded — until stars buy another session.

Downtime, bedtime and remote lock

Schedule nightly downtime, block distracting apps during homework, and lock or unlock your child's device remotely in one tap when plans change.

Rocky keeps the streak alive

Quokka's raccoon mascot turns consistency into a game — streaks, hearts and medals for 1 to 30-day runs reward kids for showing up every day.

Private by design

No ads, no trackers, no analytics SDKs. Quokka can't read messages or see screens — and the apps you choose to limit never leave your child's device.

Privacy

What Quokka never does.

Screen-time limits are applied through Apple's Family Controls — a permission to shield apps, not to observe them. Read the privacy policy.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

When does Quokka launch?
Quokka is in final testing and launches on the App Store soon. It is not downloadable yet — the notify buttons on this site open an email so we can tell you the day it goes live. There is no waiting list to sign up for and no account to create in the meantime.
What is Quokka?
Quokka is a family task manager and screen time app for iPhone. Parents assign chores and tasks, kids mark them done (with an optional proof photo) and earn stars, and stars unlock rewards the family sets up — including extra screen time. Screen-time limits, bedtime downtime and app blocking are enforced on the kid's iPhone through Apple's Family Controls.
How does earning screen time work in Quokka?
Parents set a daily screen-time limit and pick which apps or categories are limited on the kid's iPhone. When the limit runs out, those apps are shielded. Kids can spend stars they earned from completed tasks to start a timed screen-time session that temporarily unlocks the apps — so extra screen time is earned, not begged for. Parents can also lock or unlock the device remotely at any time.
Can Quokka see what my child does on their phone?
No. Quokka uses Apple's Family Controls, which is a permission to apply limits, not a permission to observe. Quokka cannot see your child's messages, browsing history, screen contents, or what happens inside other apps. Even the list of apps a parent selects to limit is stored only on the kid's device — it never reaches Quokka's servers. Read the full privacy policy.
Does my child need an email address or account to use Quokka?
No. Kids join the family with a short invite code — no email, no phone number, no password and no date of birth is ever requested from a child. Only the parent signs in, using Sign in with Apple.
Which devices does Quokka support?
Quokka is built for iPhone and requires iOS 17 or later. Both the parent and the kid use Quokka on their own iPhones; screen-time enforcement runs on the kid's device. Multiple kids and a co-parent can join the same family.
Will Quokka be free?
Quokka will be free to download. A Quokka Premium subscription unlocks the full feature set for the whole family, with a free trial on the yearly plan and Apple Family Sharing support. Prices are set per App Store storefront and will be shown on the App Store page and inside the app at launch.
Does Quokka show ads or track my family?
No. Quokka has no ads, no analytics SDK, no attribution SDK and no third-party trackers. It does not track users across other apps or websites, and it never sells personal information.

Start the week without the screen-time argument.

Set up your family in a few minutes: add your kids, pick the chores that matter, and let earned stars do the negotiating.
